Default What has everyones Treadlife been like with their RE040?

I am really pissed off about mine to say the least! I have a little over 11,500 miles on my Bridgestone RE040. I also have 3500 miles on my Hak snows. The RE040 are totally SHOT! I have to repalce them THIS week!

I was hydroplaining all over the road on the way back from NC and all day yesterday. I thought it was tire pressure on my NC trip, and yesterday I decided it must be the tires. I just checked the tread, or should I say where the tread used to be!

My rear tires are almost BALD! I am posting pictures of both rear tires and also my right front tire. Everyone should take a look at their tires. This is VERY dangerous! These tires should NOT be an OEM tire for this car! I am sorry $35k to $45k and have the tires last just over 10,000 miles is NOT good business practice!

Now, before anyone jumps down my throat about all of the mods I have on my car, my tire wear is perfect across all four treads. The ONLY "track" event I drove in was one auto-x and that was 5 55 second runs. This kind of wear does NOT come from only 5 auto-x runs! This kind of wear comes about from a tire that is too soft for the car.

If I want this type of wear I will put on a full race tire and get 5,000 miles on the street with it, for less money!

Please let me know what your tire wear has been like and if AoA is reading this, PLEASE contact me, I am not a happy camper! I now have to spend $550 on a set of Bridgestone RE730 tires! I can't even use these tires at my first QCUSA Drivers school, the tread is under 1/32"!

Assume you just drive to and from the grocery store. Just kidding...the RE040 have a tread wear indicator of 140 and I estimate that most of us who drive 225s' aren't little old ladies unless we are of the Beach Boys variety. I have had other manufacturers' tires with 120 to 140 wear rating and I estimate if I got 15K miles out them I was lucky. Yea, next time you see that wonderful curve that you can power on through...basic laws of physics...NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH...sticks but wears.

Default Negative camber will NOT help with FAST tread wear!

I only need the camber if I am on the track or running in an auto-x.

My tread wear is perfect across all four tires, it is just worn out tires!
