What I meant was "a paint sealant" not "clear coat"....

My friend just bought a Corvette, and she got a Resistall Polymer paint sealant put on her car. Was wondering if anyone did such a thing for their Audi TT. I am "guessing" that this is sort of like the "clear bra". Correct me if I'm wrong.

Plus I've never heard of the product. Corvettes may require a non- clear coat paint due to the fiberglass and may need extra protection.
For an Audi (and generally any car), all you need is a quality wax/polish and the tenacity to maintain the finish on a regular basis. There is no aftermarket product that is "apply and forget".

even though i explicitly told my salesman i didn't want it. basically, i think it's their way of marking up the price without calling it a mark-up. kind of double-speak, especially since they were touting "we do not mark up our TT's".
the paint sealant product i got is called 'caltex'. when i asked4 information or a brochure on it, all they gave me was this one page leaflet. did not inspire confidence in me about it. they claimed i would never hafta wax the car with this sealant. hmm, seems kinda sketch.
i'd recommend against getting this. and just go through the joys of regularly waxing your car 4protection.

to sucker you in to is a ripoff. Steer clear; there are lots better ways to spend the money.

Plus its a pleasure to wash and wax this curvy beauty using one of the Z's. The dealer just wants more money from you.
