What is the most HP a 225's enternals can handle?

What is the most HP a 225's enternals can handle?
Ive been told by VW guys that my engine, BEA, can support 450hp, dont know if thats crank, awhp, or even accurate? What horsepower can these engines take safely? No reason, just had a few, actually, alot of people pose that question to me. Thanks.

Casey, Petervan could probably tell you more accurately, but...
I think I was reading that when you start pushing close to 350+crank HP you should start to consider replacing connecting rods, pistons, etc. just for peace of mind.
