Default What is my service rep talking about???

I recently had to take my TT in for what was apparently a bad battery. When I went to pick up the car, the service rep told me that "in just a couple of miles" my car would need to be brought back in for scheduled maintenance. My car is at 35K right now, with my last service at 30K. I thought my next service was at 40K. What is he talking about. Given that this is Tom Williams Audi, my confidence in their knowledge is minimal.

Default it is possible he checked the service/mileage >>>

distance to service, and it is just a bit above 1k miles....

or, it could just be an expression! ;-)

Default Sometimes they seem to go by months between service........

My service intervals seem to be all screwed up because they have been going by months rather than miles. When I had my first oil change at 5K they did the 10k service because of the age of the vehicle.

Default They use time or mileage, whichever is greater.

If you had a 30K service in June then did some cross country trips and had 38K on tthe odometer in Nov. then you'd need the 40K service in December or January.

Default funny thing is...you really should change your oil>>>

every 5k on a turbo...especially when driven hard. The 10k service interval of oil should only be adhered to on a leased car that you do not plan on keep...IMHO...

why do you think there was/is a sludge problem on a4's????
