Default What should I do..

when you just found out you have a faulty diverter valve with roughly 250miles on your brand new TT? Gosh..I *think* I just found out that I have a faulty valve, its kind of like a 'hoonk' at 2800rpm or so right? it isn't really loud, but I notice it with the stereo off and windows rolled up, am I paranoid or is this the faulty valve problem with the vehicle? Should I bring it back to the dealer right away (by the way, anyone here in Vancouver with a TT has brought it to their dealer about the problem?) or should I wait for the 5000miles service? any advice or comments are welcome, thanks again!

Since I don't think Audi has a fix yet, it's up to you...

Default No fix as of now...replacing DV with Audi 'G' model DV only temp fix....more

unless DV gets very bad (honking at around 3K rpm not very bad..honking at 1600, 2700-3200, 3600 rpms with engine surging is getting very bad) you can either wait for the Audi fix or go with aftermarket DV such as a Bailey DV30 valve. I would suggest taking car back to dealer just for a matter of record that the DV is going.

Default It's in your best interest to get the problem logged by Audi sooner vs. later

Your warranty protection is enhanced if the oficial records show that the problem existed from the very beginning; if you wait till 5,000 miles, you have no proof of the problem's early onset should a problem develop later.

While a "permanent" fix from Audi may not yet be available, Audi appears to have a solution that stops the hum/honk sound. They put the diverter valve in BACKWARDS! Several posters have reported that this fully solved their problem. It's also rumored that Audi is working on a more elegant and permanent fix.

Are you sure it isn't just the turbo? Most people are saying that the honking sound occurs at 2000 rpm. Also, it appears to be more common in the 225 hp TT. It's probably best to take it in to make sure that this problem exists.

Honk is closer to 3,000 than 2,000 .... (2,800 sounds about right)
