Lifetime fluids are all fine and good but coming up to 100k miles I want to change my transmission fluid. Advice? Opinions? Sources? Costs? Reviews?
Search seems to indicate MT90. Anyone using other stuff or tried several?
Thanks :-)

I had a bit of notchy engagement going into 2nd and now it's a full on grind at times. It's weird too because overall it does feel better with the MT90 in there, slicker and less tight when cold but maybe feels too thin? I dunno. I think I'm gonna drain and try Amsoil GL4. If that doesn't work I'm going back to OEM.

most people like what they used... only a couple have used both and have a preference. When I asked this question about a month ago, Russ Scott said he'd used both and recommended Amsoil as feeling smoother, so I went with that.

Read Russ' opinions having used both...

My mechanic told me to get rid of the redline MT90 because it causes the bearings to wear prematurely. From his experiences all the transmissions he has rebuilt after using redline have needed new bearings (this is over an extended period of time, most of his customers are long term).

I haven't used their tranny fluid, but I switched from Mobil 1 to AmSoil motor oil (for both my TDI and gas engines) and like it better. I'll use the tranny fluid as well when I change it in the spring.
