What we put up with at PBS, a woman complains of "Teletubbies' Sinful Dance."
This is a real e-mail sent to our director of programing.
TELETUBBIES' SINFUL DANCE
On Thursday I was watching the Teletubbies with my 3-year-old daughter,
and on this particular show they did this dance that I found rather
provocative. The multi colored characters, with phallic objects
attached to their heads, were shaking their rear ends and
spanking them selves. I used to be an exotic dancer before one
of the clients made me pregnant, and I used to dance like that
for money. Now I am trying to live a cleaner lifestyle while I
raise my daughter. Unfortunately now she constantly repeats
this "dance of sin" by constantly shaking her rear and spanking
herself. In fact, on Friday I got a complaint from her daycare
because she taught all the other kids to spank themselves and
shake their rear ends. Normally the show does not make a
whole lot of sense to me, but particularly this episode when one
of them just got up one day and started spanking himself is very
confusing to me as a 20 year old woman, I am scared what it is
doing to our children.
