Default Re: L! The manager actually asked "Don't you think that's a little **** retentive?"

Ask him if HE spent fifty grand on a car would HE mind if the paint was F'd up? I can'nt believe he said that... I would have lost it.

Default I didnt even bother asking for another discount...

because of the managers tone. If they were a bit nicer & offered me some type of compensation via money or a discount, I might have entertained the fact but the rapport was smashed when they started to blame me.

Default I said something to that effect as well...

but all they were trying to do is make me keep it so eventually the dumber side of his "sales" tactics came out when I kept on saying no. I was on the verge of chewing him out but it's no fun over the phone. Now if we were face to face on the dealer show room floor then I would have turned the volume up.

Default I missed that you already received a discount...

I don't blame you for your reaction - a replacement car is what you should receive. Threaten to walk away from the deal altogether and they'll start scrambling!

Skip the car, make them get you a different one. This is NOT retentive, it's just smart!

I'd make them take the car back just out of principal.....it's your money!

Default I would do the same. $40,000+ is a lot of money in my opinion . . .

My car has over 100,000 miles on it and I still check it very closely after each visit to the shop. Any problems and I have them take care of it. Your situation is un-excusable (sp?). I would demand a replacement car and you should not have to wait more than a week to get it as well.

You're doing the right thing. Have them find you a new one, and make sure they eat all the costs.

Default I had a similar experience with a Buick I bought new a long time ago.....

And after I drove it home and had a good look at it there was no question that it had been damaged during transit and they had repaired it without telling me. They asked me to go out on the lot and pick out a new one.... now dig this..... and that it didn't matter if the one I chose cost more than the one I was returning since it was clearly their fault and wanted me to be happy with my car and with their service. AND THIS WAS A BUICK!
If AUDI gives you a hard time tell them where they can shove the messed up TT.
