Default Whats the best/easiest way to clean your intake manifold?...

or are there any write-ups on engine bay cleaning on here?

Default if u just want to clean the motor for say, i use b&g motor degreaser and go down to the

car wash!...... fun fun!.....

Default Outside, i've tried a couple of things and it still looks grimey...

maybe a decent preassure wash and degreaser?

Castrol #06723 purple cleaner in gallon jug...about $12 ...if U cant find it use Smart and Final degreaser in the gallon jug...$6.00 its pink and watery. Plastic bag the alternator and spray on with a bottle sprayer full strength. Dont get it on the paint...if U do rinse off immediately. Let sit 2 -3 minutes on a cold motor. Use a soft paintbrush if dirt is caked on. Rinse with plenty of water.

Default i have had a lot of luck with Simple Green>>>

water it down a bit and use an old tooth brush to clean the rough stuff...
Work it in good...

It is easier on the paint but if left on too long it will remove the wax and eventually damage the clear coat...

While it is documented that Simple Green can be tough on some aluminum, i have been doing this technique for years without an issue as i rinse it thoroughly!!!!

Cover the alternator or just do not spray directly in it.....

Here are some pix...remember this car has 150k plus miles on it..
