Default DV Stands for Diverter Valve.

It's a vacuum activated valve that helps to keep the turbo spooled up during shifting. The OEM valve is made by Bosch and it's a piece of crap. It's based on a diaphram that seems to degenerate pretty rapidly. The aftermarket DV's are piston based and use high temperature materials like Delrin, Nylon and Aluminum. Don't mess around, upgrade your DV.

Default Some people still have their OEM valve w/o problem while some...

...complain of the thing making honking sounds and making the car surgy after just a few miles. Go figure.

I would recommend the latest, all aluminum valve from Stratmosphere.

Mine went at about 6000 miles. Car would make a fffft-fffft-fffft-fffft sound when you got off the gas and the check engine light came on. They replaced the dv and everything was back to normal.

Default I upgraded to StopTechs...also from Stratmosphere.

If you like the red, though, you can just paint them.

Default They last longer on 180s than 225s --here is a pic of the Bailey valve from AWE
