What's a DV and do 225's have DV problems like the 180's?

What causes the 225TT to hum (honk) @ about 2,900 RPM?
A: You have a bad turbo bypass valve (a.k.a. by Audi as a "diverter valve"), which is very common problem on the 2001 225s.
Needs a new "diverter valve", part number: 06A-145-710-G; and a "clip", part number:N-102-582-01.
BZ: Replacement of the valve does seem to help but not totally solve the problem. It seems that the problem stems from the use of the same diverter valve on the 225 that is used on the 180 and it just can't handle it.
6/26/2000: "reversing" the valve in seems to make it go away completely (as reported on the board).
7/4/2000: The part number for the aftermarket Bailey product is #DV-30 ($150) and seems to be working wonders.
7/25/2000: Audi has said that the 'G' valve is a work in progress and they are working on another longer fix.
