I don't want the ECS kit. I can get the calipers for much cheaper, but I will need the carriers.

Default I want to, but that will mean that my TT gets parked for the winter.

I still want to be able to fit my 16" winters on. Otherwise it will just cost too much for all the brakes and the wheels.

Default "Specifically made for the TT"?! There are none, the market is not that big. The kits from those

companies are calipers adapted with mounting kits to fit on the TT. The mounts are custom, the calipers are not. Calipers are not rocket science - through hydraulic pressure, they apply a force to pads. You get more expensive through the use of lighter/stronger materials, and designs to optimize weight savings.

Boxster brakes are an upgrade over the TT, just as the TT brakes are an upgrade over Jetta/Golf brakes (larger diameter, same caliper). Agreed they are not as much an upgrade as Wilwood or Stoptech or those you mentioned, but depending on what you are looking for, they can be what owners want in the way of price/benefit ratio.

Boxter brakes are by Brembo, BTW.

Default New ECS rotors are the difference between the Stage 2 v1 and v2 setups. The v2 has slotted and

vented rotors. Alone, they are $550 for a pair...

Default Boxster kits are offered as an upgrade for TT

and I don't think its any worse then other "value" kits. ECS sells everthing required to upgrade. I do agree with you on specialty made kits. If I wanted to spend over 1K on brakes then thats probably what I would do, but I can have the boxsters for prob. half the price, thats why I'm snooping around to see if anyone else had done it.

Is there a market to sell TT calipers to Jetta folks? What are they worth? 225Q if it matters.

Default They only need the caliper carriers and rotors - not the caliper - but some buy it all....

post em on Vortex classifieds for sale - you'll find buyers.
