I still want to be able to fit my 16" winters on. Otherwise it will just cost too much for all the brakes and the wheels.

companies are calipers adapted with mounting kits to fit on the TT. The mounts are custom, the calipers are not. Calipers are not rocket science - through hydraulic pressure, they apply a force to pads. You get more expensive through the use of lighter/stronger materials, and designs to optimize weight savings.
Boxster brakes are an upgrade over the TT, just as the TT brakes are an upgrade over Jetta/Golf brakes (larger diameter, same caliper). Agreed they are not as much an upgrade as Wilwood or Stoptech or those you mentioned, but depending on what you are looking for, they can be what owners want in the way of price/benefit ratio.
Boxter brakes are by Brembo, BTW.

and I don't think its any worse then other "value" kits. ECS sells everthing required to upgrade. I do agree with you on specialty made kits. If I wanted to spend over 1K on brakes then thats probably what I would do, but I can have the boxsters for prob. half the price, thats why I'm snooping around to see if anyone else had done it.
