Wheel choices; 16 or 17...

Just a thought: In Automobile Magazine the Audi TT's designer, Freeman Thomas, responded to the question: "How does the Audi TT interpret this design theme [of expressing optimism]?" to which he responded, "When you look at the TT, you can see that it's really about advanced geometry. If you look at the side of the car, there's a line that connects the wheels together which makes a shape where the wheels dominate the car." I interpret this to mean, and I think the early drawings suggest, that predominant wheels (i.e. 17" wheels) are an important part of the overall design concept. If it's between 16" or 17", I'd go 17" - however, in the end it's always a personal decision.

That is true, indeed, since it snows all winter! Another reason why I chose the 16" is because I am just going to use them in the winter (they are 4-season tires), and get aftermarket wheels for the summer. <br>I have a question though... Does the wheels that fits current models of Audi also fits on the TT? Thanks!

one minor detail re the 17"ers...they have the dimpled bright aluminum trim ring which mimics the fuel filler and interior trim theme, although they have 6 instead of the usual 8 indents. A minor consideration, but as consistent as the style of the car is otherwise...
