Default Wheels, coilovers, and rubbing issues

I have H&R springs on my car and was looking about going from my 17"s to 18"s. I was concerned about rubbing issues. I will also be going to wider rims 8's vs the stock forged rims. Has anyone experienced any problems? Should i be concerned or will i be safe just going with a lower profile tire to make up for the rim size difference?
