The best way to remove adhesives from tape or labels is a product called "goof off". I really works. It is similar to lighter fluid. It disolves the glue residue without leaving a trace behind. You need not rub hard. It is sold in Canada. If you can't find some, I will get my small can to get you the manufactures name.
