Default VAG machines come from Audi... your dealership will sell you the latest one for

$15K or so. Or you can get an older 1552 like this one for around a grand:

Clicky

Default Think about a PalmOS-based soln....beats driving w/ a PC in the car or a putting a PC in the garage.

I've been using the product below from Shade Tree (ProDiag) for over two years and have been completly satisfied. It has all of the functionality of the popular PC-based solution that most of us need and you can easily transfer the data logs to your PC if you want to do some fancy graphing. Also, the guys at Shade Tree are a pleasure to do business with and know the reference VAG environment as well as anyone does. They also support their product exceedingly well as I have had technical issues/questions as I have used ProDiag on various devices from time-to-time and multiple VW/Audi models and they always respond promptly to my questions.

I use ProDiag on my Palm Treo 650 smart phone which is very cool. There are also a zillion other Palms out these days that are pretty cheap if you don't have one already (see the list of supported devices on their site).

Another positive if you don't have a Palm is you get your life organized AND get a VAG-COM solution all at once! The other thing is that I've always thought is that driving with a laptop on your front seat is pretty silly if not dangerous.

http://www.shadetreesoftware.com/</a

Default Do what I did -- win one at TTE (in Asheville for me, but passed

it along to someone who would REALLY get some use out of it, Steve Schwing!)
