Default How "north" - Fairfield/Vacaville where I live is the least expensive place in the Bay Area

Median Housing cost is about $250k - with most new homes in the $300k range. These homes are twice the price in the rest of the Bay Area.

I live in Novato; it's reasonable, for Marin that is.

Default Well, I've got a potential job possibility that would make SF & the northern counties my territory.

I found a webpage that makes the Sunset and Richmond Districts seem reasonable.

We would definitely have to rent something first. Need to park 2 cars and have 2 dogs and a cat.

Oh, and the TTR and the Expedition will go and be replaced by an allroad.

Default From my recollection either way north or way east...

For housing comparable to most normal places in the country, you'd probably be looking at Tracy; the good news is that since things get less seismically active that far east your house will probably be OK should either the San Andreas or Hayward faults let go in a big way (you won't be able to get there if you're in the Bay Area at the time, but...)

Default Almost every house in the Sunset or Richmond has a single car or maybe tandem car garage with no

real driveway parking and absolutely no parking on the street.
