Whoomp Whoomp Whoomp noise. Is this normal? It sounds like a wheel bearing to me.

I was hoping to replace the wheels and tires soon anyway. They are pretty cheap off-brands.

If the wheel is bad enough to shimmy then I'd fix it before anything else.

Default I just hit 70k and had to replace a front wheel bearing

It was a speed dependent sound with a slight change in sound when cornering or not, same sound when tires were hot or cold, and independant of coasting or accelerating.
