Default why add boost gauge if boost not adjustable?

my 6 week old TT is my first turbo, although i've been around them a fair bit at the track. i assumed there is no factory boost gauge because TT does not have adjustable boost. but, i see the VERY cool aftermarket boost gauges being installed by some here. is it just for looks, or is there a functional purpose to having boost gauge in a car w/o adustable boost?
thx

Default I believe most people want it so they...

so they can monitor boost pressure. This will provide any indication of lost boost, and be able to see the increased boost after such mods as chips and new turbos.

Default "Morale" gage. Sorta like those "Push to cross street" buttons on city street corners.

You make a good point.
