Default Why does the frame of my car creak when at an angle...

it seems as though when I am going up a driveway or down a hill at an angle, the entire car seems to creak??? any thoughts?

p.s. its not my bones either, not that old!

Default You are twisitng the frame....more inside

Think of your car as a shoe box, if you grab the front and the back and twist, it is going to flex no matter what unless your car is carved out of a solid block of billet aluminum. With my springs on (Neuspeed's) when I pull in my driveway on an angle, right front wheel approaches the *curb* first. When the wheel climbes that curb, the rear right will come completely off the ground like a teeter/ totter (is that a word?) lol

Default Not necessarily. TTC is extremely stiff torsionally (more)

and doesn't twist very much when loaded diagonally. It doesn't mean however that parts screwed onto the chassis (TT is unitbody, not separate frame and body)won't move.

Usually some suspension part is the best candidate for a squeak in this situation, or a plastic trim part underneath which doesn't usually get moved.

BTW: hard cornering puts very high torsional loads (diagonal corners) into chassis, but may not stroke suspension as much as driveway approaches taken at an angle.

My $.02
