Why would someone get the Boxster S, when the SLK32 AMG has more hp and costs about the same?

Default why would someone get a 180 TT when the M-B C230 Coupe has more power and costs $5k less?

hp is not the only factor in selecting a car. "fun to drive" cannot be reduced down to one quantitative measurement.

one reason is the porsche is mid-engined and weighs 400 pounds less. to many, this makes it feel more nimble.

Default Well, yes and no..... It's called 'Speedshift' and was developed specifically for the AMGs. It's not

available on any non-AMG Mercedes models (the others have your standard tips). The AMG transmission is incredibly fast shifting, and you basically slap left to downshift and right to upshift. However, it's fastest (0-60 in 4.5 seconds is easy) when you let the transmission take care of shifting on its own. (The automatic on the SLK230 we had was nothing like this - which is one reason I bought the TT.) I wouldn't trade this transmission for anything. (BTW, you know lots of racecars are 'automatics' too, right?) :-)

Ummmm, because they never could get hold of a 32 for a test drive? ;-)

Yeah, I know about those "race" cars. Only saw a few AMGs the other day.

Default Well, you know, making those engines one by one takes those AMG guys some time. ;-)

Actually, that was one of the things about this car: I figured that this was probably as close as I'd get to a custom, hand-built car in my lifetime. AMG knows what it's doing.
