Eventually, if you let it go that long.

Default how long is long?....

mine just came on one day. went to the dealer and had it checked. he said it was nothing "major" but needed to be fixed. he couldn't/wouldn't tell me exactly what it was, just "maybe a small leak in the emissions". my first thought was the dv sine the car doesn't "seem" quite as smooth or powerful as before. could be in my head though.

Default Yes, mine did.

But are you having any other symptoms, like fluttering noises, honking, etc?

Default 'Long' is not a period of time in the context I used it. My meaning is that if you let it go ...

until it totally is failing, the light will come on. Once Michael's came on, they told him not to drive the car until it was replaced. (BTW, his CEL came on within the first few weeks of ownership.)

Ya, lots of fluttering between shifts, very rough shifting and loss of power (and check engine light). To me, these DV's failers are unexcusable on a car of this caliber. What a PITA! vent mode off....

The check engine light came on very shortly after the typical DV symptoms appeared. That is to say within one hundred miles on the odo.

CEL came on yesterday morning approx. 150 mile after I first noticed what I now realize was the infamous honking sound that you all have been describing for the last year in the forum. Dealer just called to say the car is fixed and that they replaced the DV -- I'll check to see with what version tonight. I know ... "get a Forge or a Baily!".

Thx for everyone's posts in this forum. What a great community this is!

Do what I did - get the dealer to replace it and then buy a Forge or Bailey and keep the replacement
