will hitting the rev-limiter trigger a code?

...and more to the point, if this event were to hypothetically happen
would this be an "issue" regarding my warranty when i bring my car in for service?
anyone have any personal experience with a dealer trying to void the engine warranty due to this?

No, but the highest rpm and mph are stored. Whether this causes warranty problems is probably up to the dealer's interpretation and attitude.

I told him I didn't know what he was talking about since I'd babied the car since I bought it. There was only one single incident where I slipped into 2nd, instead of 4th, at about 70 and redlined the tach. That was the *only* time it'd happened.
So I'm assuming they can find out more than we would like to think.
