Default will a stock cd head unit work as a swap for the tape?

like will it be plug and play with the stock tape audi head unit??

most people have no use for tape and a cd player would more useful when i dont want to fiddle w/ a cd changer.

Default not without some work. I've asked about it before and Bipes mentioned that

there's a few wires that don't match up...not a direct swap, if that's what you need to know.

Default

It involves tapping 2 wires from the inst. cluster to the H/U, 2 CAN-BUS wires.

Default That's it? which ones? >>

let me get this straight...tap only 2 from the cluster and tie them into H/U?

what's the two wires for the CAN-BUS? and which ones. I'm more interested now.

Default Well, no, it's more than that....

You still need to plug in the other connectors, but you also need to get 2 wires from the H/U to the cluster.

7. Install the CAN-H line (from the radio) into pin 5 of the grey
connector. The pins are already there and are self tapping; all you have
to do is push the wire into the pin and make sure that it cuts the
wire's shielding.

8. Install the CAN-L line (from the radio) into pin 6 of the grey
connector. The pins are already there and are self tapping; all you have
to do is push the wire into the pin and make sure that it cuts the
wire's shielding.

this is just part of the process.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/audio/msgs/32484.phtml">Link</a></li></ul>
