Default Windshield Washer adjustment - they're dreaming...

Just a followup to the windshield washer alignment topic from yesterday...

Audi is dreaming if they think what they describe is possible.

FWIW, it is physically impossible for the washers, located where they are, not to spray the wiper arms when they are down. Perhaps you can adjust the washers as described if the wiper arms are up or otherwise not in the way, but it will never be possible if the wiper arms are down...

Default Yep, I know

the plastic pieces - on my car at least- have no adjustment or if any, it's all used up in the AIM HIGHER direction so the driver's side hits the wipers when in the down position. Ah well....

Default By trying it...

There's a screw on the side of the washer jets under the hood that adjusts the height of the spray, but if you actually look at the line of sight between the windshield and the washer jet you can see there is no physical way for washer fluid to get from the jet to the windshield without hitting the wiper.

The only way you could ever achieve the results in the service manual would be to remove the wipers or leave them in their "up" position when adjusting the washers...
