Default Winter - All Season tire recomendation?

So heading to TT-West soon, end of Sep, up north, high elevations (snow???).

I normally never worry about all weather and just run max perf summer tires. In this case, I've have another set of staggered rims that I just picked up that have great tread on the rears (General Exclaim UHP), but the front tires are shot. What opinions do you have on the options below, go with General Exclaim UHP on the front to match the rear, or one of the other options listed?

The F1 seems to be a solid line of tires.

Default although the others are voting for F1s, I'd be inclined to match the fronts w/rears

in the interest of ensuring that both the front and rear ends behave in similar fashion.

Default I had a similar thought and saw a pretty aggressive tread block on the Generals

However, I wonder how they will perform in snow, part of me thought I could deal with the Generals on the rear and something on the front that could handle snow... but maybe the generals will handle snow?

My front and rear will be have diff, as I now have a Peloquin in the rear!

Default a few thoughts... >>

I used to put the better tires on the front, the worn out ones on the rear, but my understanding is that current conventional wisdom is the opposite--put the best tires on the rear. Why? because having your rear end come around because those less-capable tires let go while the fronts were still gripping sets you up for the unexpected. I'd be a little afraid of significantly-better-in-the-snow tires up front... take off would be fine, but what happens when you round a tightening corner? The fronts grip, the rear breaks loose and you're driving the General Lee when you don't expect it.

Maybe it's more conservative, but I'd still vote for similar rubber--with similar handling characteristics--on both ends.

Default The Generals have good tread for snow, but the rubber compound is not good for cold temps...

My fronts wear much faster than rears. That why you should rotate when you notice tread difference.
