Default Winter Driving - 3.2 TT

I am thinking about getting a 3.2 TT. I live in Michigan so it is important that it can handle the snow and icy weather. Please let me know what you think about winter driving and whether or not it is necessary to get winter tires or if stock tires are good enough. Thanks a lot.

Default put snow tires or all seasons on it

and you will be passing SUVs. Otherwise stay off the roads in stock tires.

PS in Michigan you are better off going w/snows, not all-seasons.

Default The TT is outstanding in the snow, but you'll need to get different tires.

All seasons will work in the snow, but you'd be better off spending a few hundred dollars on a second set of wheels with proper snow tires (many people here have summer and winter setups). But the TT is great in the snow.

Default I run snow tires in Chicago.

Tried it once with the OEM tires and it scared the hell out of me.

I use Nokians and the TT drives like a jeep in the snow.

Default Same here

I drove with summer tires from Chicago to Toronto. Scary!

I now have Dunlop M2 for the winter. The difference is amazing.

Now that doesn't mean you will not slide ever, of course. The laws of physics prevail

Default Ran all-weathers on my 225 w/no issues in snow...

I burned through a set of Pirelli P7000 SuperSports with no issues.

If I had it to do over I'd probably get a set of PZero Nero M+Ss...

Default How much are good snow tires and new wheels going to cost?

Thanks for all of your responses. I think I'm going to take all of your advice and go with the snow tires and a new set of wheels. About how much will snow tires cost? About how much will new wheels cost? Thanks a lot.
