Default Winter Wheel Package Help!! Hi All, Just got off the phone with Tire Rack and the following is what

they recommended: Blizzack LM22's with either Sport Edition Fox2's or 5's...16"

I would appreciate any thoughts the experts here might have on this combo...

Also, if anyone has pics of their winter setup, I would REALLY appreciate seeing them....

Thank you in advance, Kim

Default Oh, if someone might also provide general info about "steel" wheels..ie. pros and cons, that would

be great too...

I just spoke to Tire Rack and the rep recommended the Dunlop Winter Sport M2. He said that's what Audi recommends for the TT. That's also the tire listed in Tire Rack's ad for the TT in the car mags. The package is as follows:
16" AT Italia S5 Alloy wheels, Dunlop M2 Winter Sport...............$944
The above referenced wheel is actually very similar to the stock 225Q wheel.

Default People go w/ steelies for a few reasons:

1. Pre balanced (if purchased together)
2. Ease of swapping
3. Keeps salt & other crap off the OEMs
4. I forgot the others (someone else will add)

I keep my OEM wheels on throughout and just try to rinse them as often as possible to prevent salt damage. I didn't have any trouble w/ them last Winter.

BTW, the Blizzaks are great pure Winter snow/ice tires but they give up a bit more dry road performance than some other brands.

Default Joel - That is my concern about the Blizzacks...We don't get that much snow here...and I think they

might be "too much snow tire"...Esp. since I tend to work at home on true snow days...

I am hoping to see some other tire suggestions that might be a better fit for me...(a little more performance oriented)...

Thanks for your input...

Default I think I'm going to use the Pirellis SP's again on the factory wheel and buy SPortechs over the

winter for next season...

I had these pirelli's on the TT and they were pretty good for an Ultra Hi Perf all-season tire...Got no storage here to swap out wheels.
