Stick to the instructions. Wipe that stuff off pretty quick (i.e. a few minutes).
I'm cleaning my Summer wheels for storage, getting all that baked-on brake dust off. On my 3rd wheel, I sprayed the stuff on the wheel & decided to let it 'soak in.' Well, I kinda forgot & came back 30 minutes later. The cleaner ate into the clearcoat and chemically bonded the brake dust to the alloy. Ugh.

I bought a case (6 containers) and am trying it on many applications.
So far it's outstanding. It does a great job on wheels and tires.
