Wouldn't the easiest thing to avoid future issues be for Schwing to become an official advertiser?

Default So, has there been any kind of resolution here? It doesn't sound like it .

Thanks for the open sharing of ideas and ethics, but it would be nice to have a clear understanding of how this ends up and how it going to affect the forum in the future. Then we, as forum participants, can decide how we want to participate in the future.

Default OK, let's work together

We'll brainstorm some ideas. I never disputed that you were a fantastic technical resource. I want you to stay around. We just have to do this within a policy.

BTW, it is not advertisers complaining. It is just us trying to be consistent. I understand you're in a tough position too, but imagine if somebody was on here as a stereo expert and they helped a lot of people and then they started selling stereo components. In other words take it out of the car realm and into something else. We never wanted the forums to facilitate commerce without being fair and consistent to all parties.

But again, having said that, there are exceptions and workarounds. It has to be formalized. Stand by.

It's not advertisers at all?

Default Advertisers' views had nothing to do with it

I'm not saying nobody's ever complained about it, but we made the final call on our own.

Default Great point. Legally, Steve's contributions here would constitute

payment or as a legal term, "consideration." ;-D
