a site where I can score the Wilwood kit for $1K. I have a hard time believing the RPi/Wilwood kit is worth an additional $600 just to pick up another inch on the rotor. What do you guys think? Am I missing something?

Default Yep...Wilwood DynaPro Kit for 1999 - 2003 Audi TT

The DynaPro four-piston radial mount caliper is a combination of process and design. The process of stress-flow forging re-aligns the metal's grain structure within the contour of the caliper body. This eliminates the stresses and interruptions to the internal grain structure that occur when machining a straight block billet. The FEA generated radial transition design eliminates steps and shoulders in the area between the piston housing body and the caliper bridges. Incorporating a radius in this critical area substantially increases resistance to deflection and caliper separation.

The DynaPro uses a new 7816 type brake pad that is supported from the top by Quick-Clip pad retainers. This eliminates the need for a pad support step in the bottom of the caliper, and adds additional clearance for mounting closer to the hub on small wheel and rotor applications. The pad radius matches rotor diameters 9.45" - 12.19", and the caliper fits easily inside many 13" wheel applications. The Quick Clips also accommodate easy pad access without caliper removal. Other features include coated aluminum pistons fitted with high temperature rubber boots that seal out dirt, moisture, and debris from the piston bores.

Default I'm pretty sure that caliper carries larger pads than the calipers RPI (typically) uses

so, it's a good choice!

Sounds like you found a good deal...<ul><li><a href="http://www.wilwood.com/Products/001-Calipers/index.asp">calipers from Wilwood</a></li></ul>

Default Where are you getting it - from a Wilwood reseller? >

as long as it's the same kit as is on the Wilwood site you should be fine (that's not mine, btw - I have their "Superlite" caliper, a bridge-bolt style). If you'll note from the wilwood pic, there's a set screw to secure the rotor hat to the hub - you *do* want that; I don't see it on the RPI hat (not that it may come with one, I just don't see it. Obviously the drill and slot pattern is different, but not a big deal. If it's a Wilwood vented rotor and hat assembly, go for it, if the 13" isn't a big deal.
