WRONG TIRES? COOPER ZEONS? ANYONE???
I bought a 2002 TT 225 Roadster w/quattro, with Audi's 5-spoke aluminum rims you see most often on this model from Santa Monica/Beverly Hills Audi. The rims were fitted with Cooper Zeon 2XS 225/45R 17s. According to the Cooper Tire website, there are no Cooper Zeons to fit the 225 (only the 180 hp). I discovered that the inside of my passenger's side rear tire is worn through to the threads, at the tread/sidewall margin, about 5-6" long, after less than 5,000 miles. Can anyone offer me any help/advise. The tire is flat & I don't want the wrong replacement. And if the dealer sold me a car with the wrong tires, they should replace them (they were new). I appreciate any help!!!

Sounds like alignment issues....
I drove with 225/45R17 Cooper Zeons for a year on my 225 roadster with no issues (on the forged 5 spoke rims). They were actually pretty good tires, very quiet and good sidewall stiffness, you just have to put up with some crap from tire snobs who say you shouldn't run Coopers on a quality car.
