Default I really wanted the lower part (most of my damage is below the aliens)

thanks though. I was cleaning the other day and I noticed a lot of damage from sand and stones :-(
I should have put this stuff on when it was still a baby
Now that I have all this damage (not as bad as it sounds and not really visible from more than a foot away - but you know how we are!) I'm wondering what to do about it. Should I put the shield on now? Try to restore? Buy PC orbital and see how much diff it makes? wait till the nose is gone and replace? Horrible that I love this car to damn much ;-)

Off home now but I'll check back in tomorrow and see what advice I get from you (and MTT). I trust your opinion a lot since you've done some concours stuff before...

Default I would have it repainted and put the film as soon as feasible after that. You might want to try...

polishing first (can't hurt) but if they're deep you'll probably need to refinish it.

At Fallingwater, I scraped underneath when driving back onto pavement from the grass and even though no one would ever see it or know it was there (other than me) I had it repainted. It doesn't cost that much, and it's nice feeling that it's all in the shape it should be in. (Yeah, I'm a fanatic....) ;-)

Ivan, the TT rack consists of both the "base rack" + the "bike holder", right?

Default Yes and sort of...

The base rack consists of the two bars that screw into the roof. There are two bike adapters or mounts available from VAG, one is the "fork mount" and the other is the "wheel mount". You have to remove the front wheel to use the fork mount. If you have a road bike or are more comfortable with this system, then use it.

The "wheel mount" bike attachment is used with both wheels on. There is an arm that grips the bottom tube and two locking straps that hold the wheels. I have this. It was about $100. I am very happy with it for mountain bike use. I can see how you may not want this for lighter and less rigid wheels.

I am trying to upload a pic of my setup and am having multiple probs. I'll post as soon as I can.

Got your e-mail w/ pic. Thanks. The bottom tube on my bike is pretty fat - any problems?

Default The mouth of the holder is adjustable. I have no idea how wide it goes, but it's pretty wide.

If I remember I'll measure before i go to work.
