Eh, the complaint letter isn't a guaranteed free cluster
But a way of goading Audi into doing what's right.
If your car is pre-2003 and never had a replacement cluster, your chances of getting a cluster out of Audi should be higher. But don't set up false expectations - as far as I know, I'm the only one who has gotten a free/low cost cluster from Audi using the letter.

I got a 2001, and its on it's way out..
No missing lines on the center display, but temp and gas gauge is off by alot.. and lights flicker on cold starts..
It seems my extended warranty will cover the replacement, and my indy tech is qualified to do the install.. hopefully it'll be just the $100 co-pay for me.
