Default Yokohama Paradas

I'm looking at running 225/40/18 in this rubber. Comments would be appreciated.

Default A few comments..

Look at 'wear rating' and speed rating...what you have OEM is Y. Fairly high wear rating which translates into a somewhat harder (less tacky) compound...yes this wear rating system has lots to be desired but 300 is far cry from 220 or 180. Now the next comments are what I have heard from those who have the tires...look great but are not the handlers of a AVS, Toyo TS-1, and a few others. If it is handling you are looking for then suggest looking elsewhere...looks and day to day driving then OK.

Avoid Ultra high performance category... go with "Max" performance tires Utqg of 140-160

I've been using these for about 8000 miles, very loud, but great in rain.

Default And look at those RE730's above the Yoko's. :)

And I think the Firestone Firehawk at the top of the list is the Potenza RE730 with a slightly different tread pattern, if my source at Bstone is to be beleived.
