Default That friggin' rules!!!!!! I've been involved in a similar experience....

About 6 years ago, I used to run my Mustang in a series called The Fun Ford Weekend. Anyway, I was at one of these at Atlanta Dragway. When I did these races, I would never trailer my car. Always just load it up with mounted slicks, 3 ton jack, jackstands, cooloer, toolbox and clothes if they'd fit. Anyway, on the first day of this 3 day event, we would have time trials. My second run of the day, I completely ruined the 1st-2nd gear sliding block in my transmission.

So.....that afternoon, I found myself at some rental company explaining to the counter guy that, no, I can not accept a Chevy Lumina....it had to be a Ford product of some sort(Ford race only). I ended up with a Taurus, went back to the track, finished time runs in the Taurus and used it to make it to the semi-finals in the next days event in a field of about 80 cars.

Returned the car the next day, borrowed a transmission from a friend that trailers his car and went home.

That's the nice thing about bracket racing......any car can be competitive if consistent run to run
