Default Your recommendations on shipping a PC

which carrier would you go with... UPS, FedEx, Airborne, other? Considering shipping ground as opposed to air for cost savings. Damn thing is heavy and it obviously needs to get there UNDAMAGED, PERIOD.

Never dealt with this before.... your suggestions are much appreciated.

Default I have shipped lots of packages using all of the major carriers . . .

UPS, Airborne, USPS and FedEx. Honestly they are all a crap shoot. I have filed claims with 3 of the 4. Have not done as much shipping with Airborne and thus never filed a claim for lost or damaged packages.

UPS pays the fastest, USPS the slowest. My USPS lost package took over 2 years to get back the money, it was only a $400 item too.

I have used UPS the most and generally they are very reliable in terms of shipping, have not been happy with my local delivery guys the last 6 months. Finally got that straightened out with a call to the supervisor.

Nancy, best thing to do is insure the package and get a return receipt with a signature. This will guarantee the package reaches the destination. Make the buyer pay for all of this.

Hope it helped.

Default their guarentee is paid for with insurance, yep

For something big (computer+monitor?) I like to make the packing someone else's problem

One MBE near me foam-fills the box with expandable foam, yikes!

It costs more for sure to have them pack - but like Larry says, receiver pays
