"Mix" button on Stereo

"Mix" button on Stereo
Forgive me if this has been covered before. My wife TT has the iPod interface and every time you switch the car on and use the iPod, she has to hit the Mix button. Is there any way for this to be the default setting?

I think there is, but...
...I don't know how to do it. On the day I took my car home (a few months ago), I would swear that it was in "mix" by default. But after I set up my bluetooth and other radio presets, it is now definitely NOT the default. Would love to figure this out.
