Hi guys,
I live in Scotland and am in the waiting list for a 3.2 DSG. I chose standard suspension, thinking that the sport one can be too stiff. Is this the case? I know that with magnetic I can get the best of both worlds, but I'm concerned with reliability issues for this super state of the art suspension...
Thoughts on stiffness of sport susp? Is it comfortable for the day to day ride?
Thoughts on Magnetic Ride reliability? Any concerns?
Thanks!

From what I understand, here in the US all TT's have the sport suspension. Probably true since the ride was a little harsher than I expected. I had a loaner for 2 days and on a particularly harsh road near my girlfriends place it was pretty brutal. Everywhere else it wasn't much of an issue to me though. Definitely harsher than my S4 on H&R street suspension though and definitely harsher than my 01 TTQR on stock suspension.
I personally wouldn't get mag suspension but that's just preference on my part. Then again, I haven't ridden in one and I'm saying this from the standpoint of modding. A lot of people swear by it.

I took a drive tonight up one of our local mountain roads. I know this road well, all the turns, speeds, etc. I've driven it many times in both my 00 and 03 MkI TT's.
In the new TT, the MagRide made it a totally different driving experience. Cornering at first was a bit odd as there wasn't that customary body roll. The new TT cornered flat and there was no front plow as there was in the MkI. The back-end followed the front with no complaints. Simply effortless!
I can also feel the difference in weight between the MkI and the MkII. The MkII is significantly quicker when you get on it out of the hole, or exiting a corner. The MkI felt massive compared to the new MkII.
Oh, and the DSG... Wow! I won't miss that stick and clutch one bit. Less than 200 miles to go and I'll be putting that Launch Control to the test.

I called my dealer today and said the car has gone into production already, so I can't make any changes!!
If I cancel my order I won't get the car until December vs. getting it in two weeks time. I think I can't wait that long. So good bye Mag Ride.
I test drove a 3.2 DSG 19" wheels, it held to the road like chewing gum and cornering was great. I guess I won't miss it??
