Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I couldn't find it referenced elsewhere. Whenever my new engine (less than 300 miles) shifts from 1st to 2nd gear under light acceleration in "D" mode, the exhaust makes a distinct pop noise that sounds half like a backfire, half like a waste gate opening / closing. The shift from 2nd to 3rd is less distinct, and from 3rd to 4th I don't hear it at all.

Under harder acceleration the sound is less noticeable, but as the car is still in the break-in period I haven't really pushed the engine yet to see if it is there on max accel.

Does anyone else have this or know what I'm talking about? Is it just a normal byproduct of the TFSI + DSG, or should I have it checked out?

Thanks for the quick response. That thread talks about the TTS. I have a plain-jane TT. I would have guessed they'd have different exhaust notes / exhaust setups?

Normal ... was present in the 2.0 I test drove a while back.

the "burp" is normal, I would like it to be even louder, but still get a kick whenever the 2.0 burps
