I ordered a RNS-E unit from this guy on eBay last week; turns out he is in Poland. I am skeptical at first but used PayPal and went for it. The total cost shipped was $1350. This included the Unit already VAG'd ready for my car, a GPS antenna, and the keys to remove the radio. The unit arrived today well packed. I unboxed it and took the keys out. It took me all of 5 min to remove the old unit. I then moved the Pin on the B connector because I have the Bose system. Then removed the plastic piece under my gauge cluster and removed my gauges. I mounted the GPS antenna with 2 sided tape up on the metal bracket behind the gages. Then ran the wire in to the radio compartment. I hooked all the harnesses to the new RNS-E unit and tested the power. It came right up. I slid the unit in to the dash and pushed my gages back in and tightened the 2 screws that hold them in. I pick up 8 satellites and everything works with the unit.

I am not sure what all that has to be done as far as the VAG goes, but I think the unit has to be told if it has bose, if you have bluetooth, if you have an Ipod adapter. All this worked without any issues. It was truely Plug-n-Play.

I used PayPal, I had butterflies about it, but PayPal assured me if the item wasn't as promised I would have recourse to get my money back.

I will post some pics, the plastic piece is right below the gauges where the leather piece fits between the steering wheel and the gauges. You pop it off and there are 2 bolts behind it that hold the gauge pod in.

I did not have to provide the option codes, just what I had. BT Prep, Ipod, Bose etc... I found the guy on ebay and missed the auction he had, when he had the TT RNS=E unit up there. I emailed him and asked him if he could notify me when he had another in stock. He emailed me I payed him with PayPal and the rest is history. I would recommend this guy if any of you are looking to do this. $1350 was cheap compared to the $2000 I was quoted for aftermarket, and the $3500 I was quoted from Audi.
