Very good question!
I'm due in a couple weeks as well and don't really trust my dealer to not flash without my consent.
Is it better to just avoid the stress and go to someone I trust? (and the heck with the cost)

I still have several thousand miles before I'm due for my next service, but you should set it back to the stock setting before taking it in.

Unless I am mistaken, the APR software wont let them flash the ecu. And is supposed to be otherwise invisible. Might not be a bad idea to give a call to the folks who programed your car, or drop APR an email directly.

If you dont trust the people working on your car, you should look around and fine someone you trust. Peace of mind is always worth a little extra $$.

Consider also, the 5k service is included in the price of the car, and should be performed at the dealership. And while not impossible, it is rather difficult to mess up an oil change and an inspection.

The TT oil change is not a standard process compared to most vehicles, requiring additional parts to be removed for completion. Don't let just anyone service your TT, it is worth paying an Audi mechanic for this service.

My first oil change was performed by a Ford dealer (Closest Audi dealer is 100+ miles away.) It took them over two hours for the oil change because they did not anticipate the steps involved. Nothing bad came of this, but I fear some shops might cut corners in these circumstances.

If anything I would go to a shop that was used to handling Audi's. Quite a few in NorCal.
Thanks for the comments and advice everyone.

I took my car in for the 5k service, there was no problems as far as the Apr tune in concerned.
