Fortunately, the RNS-E is already coded for a reverse camera even though Audi never offered a reverse camera for the Mk2. However, you will need a VCDS or OBDeleven to activate it.
There are reverse cameras available that replace the left license plate light for a more OEM look.

And another option is to retrofit a camera into the existing license plate light. If you have a 3D printer, this same post also has a description for how to make a mounting plate which can be used with the OEM license plate light and a reverse camera.
