as long as you get a high quality film that does not discolor, your clearcoat will remain protected w/o the need for those leather bras.
i didnt drive my m3 until the clear bra was put in and i plan to clear bra all my future cars, TT included.
the only drawback is you need to maintain it, i.e. polish and wax it when you do the rest of the car.
btw, NorCal has tons of good clear bra installers.

Isn't there a difference in shine from the two portions? Wax/Polish on rest of car should look different from the paint under the tape.
Roughly how much did you pay and which portions did you cover?

maintain it just like the rest of the car. the pic above shows the reflection from both the bra and without it, pretty similar IMO.
i had the installer cover the front bumper, front fenders, partial hood, underneath the bumper, side mirrors, splash area behind the rear wheels, and door edges. total came out to about $650.
only drawbacks are that bug guts are hard to clean and clay/polish/wax can stick to the edges, requiring extra clean-up.
after 40k+ miles the clear bra has a few small dimples from rocks, but i'd rather sacrifice the bra than my paint job.

so they can come to you.
i lucked out and had the owner of transparentbra . com perform the install. very impressed with his work and others i know have also been satisfied with his service. we planned ahead on custom pieces i wanted done and he provided great feedback and workmanship.
other places are premier mobile and the place in fremont you found. btw, which car are you getting done?
