pick your battles wisely... he's not insulting anyone... just a car... it doesn't stop me from sleeping at night.

dont bother
I made a post a long time ago about this, and it pretty much did nothing. I think the personal attacks are just going to be one of the features of the Mk2 TT forum.

Post that did nothing.

yep. this all started....
when i simply posted a review of what i thought about the car...and got railed for it.
really dissappointing how uptight peeps on here are these days...can't even take any jokes
many MK1 owners have been far more interested and are more knowledgable about this car than most of the frequenters who come here now....we've been posting about it for years, even before it came out. we're the original TT owners, and we have a right to stand up and say what we feel...
oh well...

That is true, but I'm sure I feel the same way about your posts as most people. We all know its going to be something negative before we even look at it. Why don't you make one more post about how you hate the mk2 and then just point to it every time you want to reply to someone?

i don't hate the MK2..
i really don't.
the looks are opinions...so everyone has their own...
but i drove a 2.0T which did NOT live up to the exaggerated claims of "sports car performance"....my 225TT felt better in nearly every aspect, hence the dissappointed tone in my voice after driving it.
i am obviously keeping track of the progress of the MK2, which is why i frequent this forum...but until they produce a version which actually has some UMPH to it...i'll be a cynic living without that FWD 2.0 roaming the streets.

i know how much you love the first gen
i love it about as much as you. i miss my TT despite my S4. for all the reasons you love it i love it too- i had so many awesome memories with it and because of it..... but i can see how some gen 2 peeps take offense. to some extent you have to look at it as their opportunity to experience the TT for the first time....
maybe try taking it easy on the new gen... it IS a hot car still, after all. and besides, no way the old gen could gave kept up with competition nowadays.
i think it gave up "essence" for performance. oh well. guess we can't have everything
..........unless it's an R8
