Email from my contact at AoA:
Mr. XXXXXXX:

Ok, it took longer than expected due to some of our team being on vacation. But here's what I've learned regarding the TT.

The dealer books are changing as the requirements on the program have changed recently ... and unfortunately, printed materials lag the updates by many weeks.

The actual contents of the S line package are:
- 19" 7-double spoke wheels with 255/35 YR19 summer performance tires
- S line grille, bumpers, badging
- Black Fine nappa leather seats with "S line" embossing (and black stitching)
- Short-throw manual gearshift
- Leather multifunction steering wheel with S line logo (and paddles on S tronic)
- Black leather covered interior components
- S line entry door sills
- Headlight washers
- At least initially, there are no unique colors for the S line package. Daytona gray is not available on the TT at this point.

Hope you're still excited about the package. I can tell you that we just had our media drive in San Francisco and the reaction was overwhelmingly positive. Look for some of the coverage ... I heard that there was a strong article in yesterday's Daily News (New York).

The U.S. Order Guide states:
S line Sport Package - PQX
-Black Fine Nappa leather S line seats and black leather elements
-19" wheels
-S line bumpers
-S line steering wheel
-headlight washers (n/a with PLP, PLQ, WQK)
-Black S line Leather with black stitching (QE)
-$3000.00

Brochure states:
-19-inch 7 double-spoke cast alloy wheels with 255/35 high-performance tires and tire mobility system
-Painted brake calipers
-S line grille, bumpers and gray diffuser
-S line door sills
-S line badges
-Headlight washer nozzles
-Black leather / Alcantara seats with silver stitching and embossed S line logo
-Black leather-covered interior components
-Silver stitching on leather covered interior components
-Leather-wrapped 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel (includes alloy paddle shifters on S tronic models)
-Short-throw manual gear shift (3.2 model only)

So it looks like the only difference from the brochure is the seats, stitching and calipers.

I read a European review on the S-line and they stated that the 19 inch wheels made the car ride very roughly, even with mag ride. Don't know if its true, however, I just picked up an 07 A6 4.2 S-line with the factory 19,s and it definetely rides harsher than the same car with 18,s.

Thanks for the follow-up. I took the leap of faith last week and ordered a 2.0 with the S-line package. The wheels really sold me. I was going to order the 18-inchers anyways, so I figured for the net $2200 difference the other goodies (whatever the final kit) sounded enticing. It took a bit of experimenting in order to get the order system to accept my configuration--make sure you include QE (black seating or stiching code, I believe). Once we fixed that it did the trick.

Hope it proves to be worth the extra $!

Seat stitching doesn't look very black in that photo. In fact, it looks white.

You did, but it's OK. You learn to ignore those. Think... uh, nevermind, no names. ;o)
