Nice winter setup. You need VCDS to turn off the TPMS - works well for me as I too dont have sensors in my winter shoes.

Google is your friend: http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/index.html

Best to try and find someone local who has the cable as its a 3 minute job to turn off TPMS. Alternatively, an indie shop or Audi dealer could also do it for you although buying someone a coffeee or beer seems like a better deal to me. BTW, dont forget to check your pressures every 3-4 weeks ...

I just put the stock all seasons from my '13 Golf R on my wife's '11 TTS roadster for the winter as I put on different snows/wheels on the R. Just reset the TPMS as that car uses ABS/ etc for low pressure and NOT sensors in each wheel. Same reset on the TTS and no issues. I did have to reactivate the TPMS on my older A8 when the batteries went bad on the sensors. Used VAG-COM for that - pretty easy, but not necessary on the TT.

Perhaps a silly question, but here goes: I have been told that the TPMS system on 2013 A6's do not use actual in-tire sensors, but rather relies on the car's computer monitoring the difference in tire rotations to sense a tire that is down on air. Is that correct, and if so, doesn't a 2013 TT have the same system?

My winter wheels never kicked the sensor on. I read as long as they all have the same pressure it will not kick on.
