Default Hardwire V1

I used fuse tap to hard wire a Valentine 1. However the power does not shut off when i turn on the ignition. Right now I have it add to Cigarette fuse. Does anyone know is there a fuse that i can add to that will shut off when I turn off the car?

Which fuse # did you tap into?
Here is few links that might help.
Can you post some pics?

Default Will post pic later

So far, all the blade fuse are live all the time. Will try to tap into mini fuse later and see if any of them are on ignition.

Default So this is how I handled it.

Here is how I handled the hardwiring and setting up the custom remote display (with colored LED's) on a Modshack ring. Power shuts it down when ignition is off.

First off, save yourself the trouble and pick up one of these things from Pepboys.
<a href="http://s29.photobucket.com/albums/c282/mildjimshales/?action=view&current=littlefusePack.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c282/mildjimshales/littlefusePack.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Next plug it in as seen here:
<a href="http://s29.photobucket.com/albums/c282/mildjimshales/?action=view&current=Valentine1FUSE.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c282/mildjimshales/Valentine1FUSE.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

If you do choose to go the route of a remote V1 display, you could do something along these lines.
<a href="http://s29.photobucket.com/albums/c282/mildjimshales/?action=view&current=V1-RemoteColour.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c282/mildjimshales/V1-RemoteColour.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Hope this helped you out.<ul><li><a href="http://www.littelfuse.com/part/FHA200BP.html">http://www.littelfuse.com/part/FHA200BP.html</a</li></ul>

Default Thanks for the pics.

Did you remove the side pillar? If so, how did you remove it?
If possible can you take a pic of your V1 location?
Much thanks.

I don't have a worthwhile pic right now, but I mounted it to the right of the rearview by 3 inches, and 4 inches down to pick up front and rear signals. I did not remove the a-pillar, I used a small kitchen spatula and "tucked" the wire in all along the pillar and headliner. Easy as pie!

Default Thats what I was thinking to do, since the pillar runs along up the entire roof.

I guess i will have to just do it. Thanks again.
