Default How to deal with a seatbelt that is too high on my neck

Hey Folks,

I noticed that the TTS seatbelt cuts into my neck a little. I also noticed there is a clip of some kind on the lower part of the seatbelt. I couldn't figure out how to use it though. I wonder if that clip would somehow let me adjust the seatbelt so that it doesn't cut into my neck??? Has anyone else found a solution to this problem?

Default Seat Belt

Hi..i have 2012 TT. The "clip" you are referring to is not really a clip in that sense...it is simply intended to let you keep the Buckle tang end on the belt in a reachable position when the belt is unbuckled...ie. keeps the buckle from sliding down the belt to the floor so that when you get in the car and go to buckle up, the tang end is easily reachable...that is its only purpose...NOT to allow slack or positioning of the belt when buckled. I too am very very sensitive to belt position when fastened..in fact, I ruled out the A5 coupe because the belt in that car is positioned in a way that it rides on my neck..Im 5 ft 8 ... but in the TT I actually sometimes feel I have the opposite issue..though not to any extreme...like the belt is not sitting on my shoulder ENOUGH. It does not come near my neck...I am sure this is different for different heights and seat position. Hope that helps some. The only issue I have really had with the belt is that you have to get used to its pull on the shoulder as its anchor point is lower than in most cars, but I am now used to it and dont really notice it anymore.

^ Height and seat position also comes into play in the A5. I too am 5'-8" but with shorter torso and longer legs and therefore seat probably higher/further back then for you, the shoulder belt location is fine for me.

There is a post on vortex about a TT-RS owner who bought BMW part number 52-30-0-302-425 to help with this type issue.

Here's the post:
