Default Just did a STASIS reflash on my TTS...results here:

So I had my 2009 TTS reflashed with the Stasis tune today at my local Audi dealer. I think the results are very good. Stasis claims +48HP / 56 lbs/ft and I think it is pretty much right on the mark.

Prior to the reflash I ran some baseline 0-60 and 60-80 runs using a Racelogic VBOX for timing so I could tell for sure what changed. My car has about 39K miles, and has never been decarbonized. I purchased it fairly recently, and a valve clean is scheduled for next December when I have some time off work.

I ran several 0-60 runs, but the first run was always the best and the later runs became progressively slower which has me thinking that there was IC saturation going on from my repeated runs. I used launch control for each run, starting in the same spot, with 91 octane CA fuel. Temperature was 78deg with the OEM tune and 74 with the Stasis.

With the OEM tune, the best 0-60 was 5.44 sec

The 60-80 were 3.24 (best) and several in the 3.3 range. Heat soak did not seem to be a problem here.

With the Stasis tune, I ran a 0-60 best of 5.11 sec, which is a 0.33 sec improvement. The car launches noticeably harder and actually spins the tires a bit which did not happen before.

I was not able to do the 60-80 runs due to lack of time, but I will do this next week and update this post then. The car is really strong from 50+ now, so I expect some decent improvement.

I was really hoping to get into the 4's, but maybe I can pull that off once I clean the intake valves.

Why the Stasis, you might ask? It was not the cost, which was quite a bit higher than the other tuners. It was to maintain my warranty, and because the tunes are CARB certified so my car will still pass smog check when they pull the ECM checksum value. These attributes reflect in the price, and it was worth it to me.

There are no bad points about this tune, except maybe the cost but you get what you pay for!

I'm considering this too for the same reason you did it. Warranty. So keep up posted on how it goes. Can I ask what you paid? My quote was $1621 installed.

Now if another non Audi dealer but dealer of Stasis products does it, does the warranty still cover?

The cost was $1249.99. Not sure on the second part, my car is CPO and the dealer stated that the CPO warranty (and standard warranty) remains in effect if they did the flash. Supposedly Stasis covers the warranty if something breaks but the dealer is in a strong position to decide how something gets handled...by Stasis or AOA.

Nice to see some real numbers for the zero/sixty sprint. Those numbers aren't very close to what Audi claims but what are you going to do? Well in your case I guess we know

I wonder if a valve spit shine would make much of a diff in those times?

Anyhow you got a very good improvement!

I think it will. With over 38k miles there must be substantial buildup on the valves and whatever butterfly valves are present in the intake. I bet there is 30% restriction, which will surely impact top end power. I'll know for sure this coming December when I pull the intake and do a cleanup. Now that I have the tune, I really want to get this done so that the car can be at it's full potential, but I just don't have the time!

I saw about the same improvement in 0-60 with an APR flash on my 2010 TTS, about .3 seconds, however my "timer" is telling me it went from 4.5 sec to 4.2 sec.
I think mine's optimistic and yours sounds off the other way. Wish we could drag race and see where we stand!

That would be interesting. The VBOX is pretty darn accurate, though. It's what most magazines use for their timing.

I am planning to get my valves cleaned also - are you doing it yourself?

Yes, I will do it myself next December, or sooner if I can get a couple of days off. How many miles on your car?

25K, and I suspect there will be some carbon to deal with. I will also have to address this on my S8's FSI V10 as well so it is of interest to me. Keep us posted!
